Facebook has made available the Gift Service to everyone in U.S.
The news was announced by the social media giant on its Official News Room page on
Tuesday.
Now, a Facebook user in US can buy a real gift for his friend by simply – Choosing the gift item + Adding the message = That’s it! A beautifully packaged gift will be delivered right to your friend’s door.
Interestingly, you don’t have to add the address also. Your friend will enter his shipping info, with his choice of size, flavor and style (available).
Presently Facebook offers gift categories like – Food & Drinks, Home & Kitchen, Baby & Kids. It has also introduced Wine for people of drinking age.
Apart from the Facebook gifts, users in U.S. can make a charitable contribution to one of its non-profit partners like Blue Star Families, Girls Inc., or Donor’s Choose. You can also donate to the Robin Hood Foundation’s Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Facebook Gift Swapping: You can also swap a gift for an item of equal or lesser value. You have maximum 24 hours for swapping the gift, after entering the shipping address. To do this, you have to click Swap for a different gift in the lower-left corner.
With the introduction of Facebook Gifts, if the social networking giant will meet the user’s expectations with better service, then undoubtedly, it may contribute a significant revenue.
